Short Description

We are seeking an experienced Crawler Crane Operator to support a major microtunnelling project in Germany during a planned summer holiday replacement period. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a crawler crane to assist with shaft operations, lifting activities, pipe handling, equipment installation, and general support to the microtunnelling team.

Function Description

• Operate crawler crane safely and efficiently on an active microtunnelling construction site.
• Perform lifting operations for pipes, shafts, tunnelling equipment, slurry systems, and site materials.
• Load, unload, and position construction materials as directed by site management.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Follow lift plans, risk assessments, and site safety procedures.
• Work closely with the Site Manager, Lift Supervisor, Banksman, and microtunnelling crew.
• Maintain safe working practices at all times in accordance with German HSE regulations.
• Support general site operations as required during the replacement period.

Requirements

• Valid crawler crane operator certification/licence.
• Proven experience operating crawler cranes on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience on tunnelling, microtunnelling, utility, pipeline, or heavy construction projects is highly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and integrate quickly into an existing project team.
• Good understanding of lifting operations and site safety requirements.
• Valid EU driving licence is advantageous.
• Basic English communication skills required; German language skills are an advantage.
