NES Fircroft has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Area Support Engineering Team Leader to join our dedicated and welcoming team in Basra, Iraq. This contract Engineering Team Leader role offers an attractive contract pay rate for your expertise.

We are looking for candidates with proven experience managing a front-line technical support team for operational oil facilities with a major international company.  The successful candidate will have excellent leaderships skills, with the maturity to influence others within a demanding but rewarding environment.

As an Area Support Engineering Team Leader, you will be embedded in Area operations and report to the Area leadership team for technical Engineering support across a broad spectrum of new and ageing facilities. You will direct a small multidiscipline team of engineers across all areas of technical and operational support for tactical field operations activities.

To give you an idea of how this Area Support Engineering Team Leader role would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do:

• Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
• Champion the nationalisation program by identifying and mentoring Iraqi nationals
• Conduct site surveys, prepare Basis of Designs, Statement of Requirements, Engineering Query responses and Management of Change proposals
• Play an integration role between the field and the central maintenance & engineering teams in developing scopes, and provide front-line engineering and operations input
• Engineering support to the Area
• Be the focal point for Pre-Start-up Safety Reviews, Emerging Risk Notifications, Operational Risk Assessments

To apply for this Area Support Engineering Team Leader role, you will need a degree or diploma qualified engineer or equivalent work experience in Chemical Process Engineering or a closely related discipline. You will also require:

• Extensive and relevant industry experience in brownfield Operations engineering support environments
• Industry experience, particularly in International multicultural Operational roles across the full value chain of hydrocarbon and water production facilities
• Familiarity with all relevant industry process engineering codes, standards and practices (API, ASME, ISO) and relevant experience
• Ability to develop others and foster diverse relationships in a multicultural environment
• Ability to identify and assess safety hazards
