Seeking a Cyber Policy Analyst with a Technical Writing background to provide support to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

What You Will Do:

  • Provide analysis and drafting of materials required by federal staff
  • Support the production of interim, draft, and final reports, to include public and private reports (draft outlines, annotations, and report templates) and assist in pulling together recommendations into the report format
  • Prepare meeting minutes reflecting the deliberations and findings of the Board
  • Draft written summaries of factual and technical findings related to cyber incidents and responses
  • Provide expertise in developing, supporting, and coordinating project timelines and milestones
  • Conduct background research and analysis, including consolidation, analysis, and editing of technical materials such as reports of research findings, technical articles, news releases, standard operating procedures, guidance documents, and regulations
  • Develop informational products for internal and external stakeholders: fact sheets, reports, memos, and recommendations
  • Assist in management support activities: consolidation and deconfliction of inputs, quality control of responses, technical editing, and correction of products
  • Assist in development of briefings for internal and external audiences, ensuring information is appropriate and in compliance with the current guidelines and policies and perform quality control to include editing documents for grammar, format, and content
  • Assist in drafting material for outreach and communication products of publicly available reports and recommendations: researching key stakeholders, trade associations, or government partners; assessing key issues relevant to participating government and industry stakeholders; and developing presentations and marketing products
  • Assist in the planning and conducting necessary activities to engage the private sector and all levels of government in the execution of a study

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Background in cybersecurity and/or critical infrastructure policies and stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or related discipline

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding and experience with federal Plain Language standards
  • Knowledge of DHS / CISA mission and operating environment ideal
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, and to partner closely with CISA staff
  • Attention to detail
  • US Citizenship
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
