One of our major clients in the oil and gas industry is seeking an ECM Senior Advisor (Enterprise Category Management) to work within their facilities in Calgary, AB on a 12 months contract.
Responsibilities include:
• Manage end-to-end Category Management process of assigned categories in support of Information Technology and the Corporate Project Management Office.
• Assess risk and support the development of enterprise category strategies in partnership with budget owners to achieve overall companies objectives
• Develop and maintain a network of stakeholders at the enterprise level
• Support the annual & long-term strategic planning and budgeting of the Information Technology Projects and Managed Services portfolios to secure supply of goods and services
• Leverage spend data, business requirements, external market data, and other necessary information to develop category strategies and influence implementation
• Lead and manage all aspects of complex sourcing initiatives including RFx activities, development of negotiation strategies and recommendations to award
• Develop negotiation plans and lead stakeholders through the negotiation process
• Review, interpret, analyze, draft and negotiate complex Information Technology contracts
• Drive post-award value through effective contract & supplier performance management
• Ensure data collected and information created is accurate and accessible
• Ensure compliance to all applicable corporate policies, including the Supply Chain Management policy, as well as legal and regulatory requirements
• Provide mentorship to team members
• Act as delegate to Senior Manager

Deliverables include:
Planning & Budgeting
• Maintain a high degree of market knowledge
• Stay informed on and share supply chain trends impacting the business and industry

• Contribution of key category price and supply information to business stakeholders’ annual budgeting process
Supplier Management
• Create and nurture positive, mutually beneficial relationships with the company suppliers by challenging and motivating suppliers to optimize service outcomes
• Ensure suppliers are commercially and technically qualified and meet company safety requirements
• Establish and maintain supplier performance management measurement tools
Sourcing & Contracting
• Provide expertise to and oversight of the development and deployment of sourcing strategies, strategic contract negotiations & contract drafting to maximize sustainable competitive advantage and operational performance
• Ensure sourcing and contracting strategies support business objectives, approved sourcing channels and enable efficient procurement and materials management practices
• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver required sourcing outcomes in accordance with schedule
• Ensure contracts fully reflect final negotiated outcomes and award decisions
• Plan for contract implementation to ensure excellent transitions to internal operations stakeholders
• Help to institutionalize consistent and leading sourcing processes and practices
• Ensure consistent use of modern sourcing methods to drive exceptional total value creation and supply assurance
• Provide contract expertise and consultation early in the sourcing phase of complex categories
Procurement & Receiving
• Ensure procurement activities follow approved buying, receiving and transportation channels to minimize transaction costs
Materials Management
• Advocate for the utilization of surplus materials where appropriate
Risk Management & Data Integrity
• Identify and apply treatments for supply chain risks within the category
• Aggregate, normalize, and analyze spend data to identify potential value opportunities
• Advance capture and utilization of key market, spend and performance analytics to further business decisions, manage risk to supply and drive value in sourcing and supply activities
• Support risk reporting activities within the SCM department

• Build and maintain effective relationships with business stakeholders and suppliers
• Surface internal constraints and resolve conflicting viewpoints and complex issues effectively and fairly while delivering high performance, service and quality outcomes

Qualifications
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• 8+ years of progressively responsible and related experience
• Post-Secondary Degree in Business, Finance, or related field
• SCMP designation is considered an asset
