Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Upstream clients to seek a Corrosion Engineer to work on an initial 12-month contract in Houston, TX.
Responsibilities:

- Provide consultation to project, maintenance, and inspection functions pertaining to corrosion/materials issues. Responsible for assisting with the development of technical deliverables associated within the mechanical integrity (structural & equipment) including evaluation and assessment of collected corrosion data, inspection scheduling, and cost control.
- Provide oversite and management of contracts associated with corrosion management as well as general M&AI contract support.
- Provide expertise and knowledge base to improve corrosion management of operated facilities by early identification of corrosion/materials issues.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve a Corrosion Management Program and recommend mitigation techniques in terms of materials selection, coatings, cathodic protection, inhibitors, etc.
- Organize, plan, and prioritize inspections based on risk-based inspection methods and develop Inspection Scopes of Work compliant with SEMS regulations and applicable industry standards.
- Review inspection data and perform a systematic analysis to evaluate mechanical integrity of the inspected items.
- Make appropriate notifications to Company personnel of items requiring attention and recommend a course of action to mitigate detrimental effects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 8 years of industry experience applicable to the primary and detailed responsibilities outlined in this document.
- Industry knowledge of applicable regulatory, safety and design codes
- Working knowledge of the principles and practices of corrosion engineering, corrosion test methods, and procedures for investigating corrosion problems.
- Familiarity with API/ASME code requirements and ability to recognize variances from standards and procedures to ensure compliance.
- A post-graduate qualification in a materials/corrosion related subject is preferred.
