Senior Mechanical Engineer

Blueprint Recruitment are looking to speak with Senior Mechanical Design Engineers to join a fantastic consultancy on a long-term contract basis in London, Birmingham and Manchester!

Our client has a key focus on providing sustainable solutions in the Aviation, Defense, Life Science, Nuclear and Power sectors.

As the selected Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be working on a mixture of small and large-scale Ministry of Defence projects.

The key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing and managing projects.
• Leading the design of the mechanical building systems, including air conditioning, heating, natural and mechanical ventilation and building controls.
• Leading the development of sustainable energy strategies for buildings.
• Formation of budget cost reports.
• Development of room data requirements, plant and zoning strategies and Builders Work requirements.
• Liaising with clients and developing strong relationships.

Essential skills, experience and attributes:

• Degree qualified in Mechanical or HVAC Engineering, ideally to Master's level.
• Membership of a professional organisation e.g. CIBSE.
• Extensive experience of mechanical building design across a range of projects, specifically Healthcare, Education or Commercial experience.
• Knowledge of sustainable building design and regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good understanding of software including Excel, IES/TAS and Revit.
• Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
• Previous experience in MOD, MOJ, Pharmaceutical, Life Science, Aviation or rail projects.
• Security clearance (BPSS/SC/DV) highly beneficial but not compulsory.

Due to the nature of the projects to apply for this position, candidates must be:

• Eligible to live and work in the UK without visa restrictions.
• Hold a British Passport / British Citizenship.
• Have lived in the UK for the last 5 years.
