Job Description: 

Working within the Systems Completion team, the GTG Startup Engineer will report to the Area Completions Lead to provided technical expertise and support in pre-commissioning, Commissioning, and startup on five GE Frame 9E gas turbine generators that are directly tied into existing and future operating facilities.

Requirements:

1.    Higher Technical or Engineering degree.
2.    10+ years direct Electrical Power Generation during commissioning/start-up, maintenance and operations of power stations with GE frame 9 heavy industrial gas turbine and generators.
3.    English language - Intermediate
4.    Experience in loop checks, device function testing, device calibrations, cause & effect testing and complex troubleshooting. O&M gas turbine maintenance and start-up experience
5.    Familiar with power generation operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting
6.    Competency with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and operational characteristics of GE gas turbines.
7.    Must be confident in the field application of typical GE installation & start-up practices for large industrial gas turbines.   Working knowledge of gas turbine accessory systems, including; fuel gas, lube oil, hydraulic oil, cooling water, ventilation, MKVI control system, gas turbine instrumentation, loop & functional checks, balance of plant, DLN tuning, gas turbine dynamic testing and generator/excitation testing.  Desired high energy candidate regarded as an SME with GE or related OEM experience to assist Systems Completions in delivery of reliable, safe and quality power generation assets to the existing Company's Base Business.   Experience with Gas Turbine/Generator testing including, DLN tuning, gas turbine performance testing, safety system test, excitation test, generator on and off-line testing. System checkouts on GTG's
8.    Experience leading small to mid-sized teams to success in challenging and complex work environments with many stakeholders.
9.    Familiarity with industry installation & commissioning processes and norms
10.  Demonstrated experience in training plant personnel in the operation and commissioning of heavy-duty gas turbine power generation facilities.  The successful candidate will be required to mentor FGP Power Ops operational staff in the proper system walkdown & QVD techniques, execution of BHGE Technical Package for Installation & Commissioning as well as overall power generation plant operations.  GTG Instrument engineer will help manage the start-up and operations of the gas turbine units until handed over to Operations.
11.    Provide leadership and technical mentoring to junior engineers with focus on safety, quality, and communication.
12.    Lead dynamic commissioning on electrical, control, and mechanical sub-systems including integration into the live HV network with focus on safety and quality.
13.    Provide management and guidance during troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
14.    Review / agree vendor testing requirements.
15.    Fosters a culture of safety for all employees while maintaining integrity of company assets.
