Job description: (team, role in the team, tasks, expectations…)
- Being available at the construction yard for day to day instrument engineering activities, based on project demand.
- Continuously consider cost, constructability, operability and maintainability.
- Deal with questions from yard and liaise with SBM site team and back-office.
- Liaise with other disciplines like Instrument, Process and Piping when dealing with changes.
- Use all existing engineering project deliverables and clarify these to the yard representatives where needed.
- Work on Management of Change (MOC).
- Assist in developing a project specific system design with all associated documentation (layouts, specifications, datasheets, block diagrams, Cause & Effect diagrams, etc.).
- Act as package engineer for Electrical packages and work in close cooperation with Supply Chain to perform technical bid evaluations.
- Together with the Lead engineer and Lead designer manage the flow of information to remote teams to enable them to prepare Specifications, Bid reviews, Layouts, Cable Block diagrams, Termination diagrams, Loop diagrams, Hook-up diagrams, Mounting details, Cable list, Junction box list, Bulk MTOs for Cables, Cable glands and Hook-up materials.
- Review vendor data and ensure package units are properly integrated and/or interfaced.
- Ensure that interfaces with other disciplines (mainly Instrumentation, piping and process) are consistent and aligned.
- Review documents prepared by sub-contractors to ensure quality and consistency.
- Ensure that the system, which you are involved in, is fully in line with the Regulatory regime, Classification requirements, SBM standards and Client requirements.
Job requirements:
- Academic : University or Technical College or Equivalent
- Exp: 5 years’ experience in Electrical design in the (Offshore) Oil & Gas industry
- SW or tools: Competent in the engineering use of Microsoft Office Suite, Navis Works. Would be beneficial
