This is an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking a role to start a rewarding career within a leading Classification Society. As a Project Manager, you would be joining our Contracted Research and Development (CRAD) department based in Athens, Kallithea.

The main focus of this position will be on managing contracted/funded R&D projects, serving as ABS primary liaison with key research partners and the shipping community, providing regular interaction with EU agencies and other funding organizations (such as CINEA, EMSA, DG MOVE, etc.), and supporting ABS Business Development efforts, including leading proposal development, participating in local, national and international organization, etc.

The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects, whilst adhering to strict deadlines. Analytical skills and a desire for product/service innovation are also required.

 

International travel will be required.

The following qualifications and skills are essential to be considered for this role:

  • Fluency in Greek & English
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably in Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering)
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Technical field (desirable)
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in classification, marine & offshore industry / technologies, and client relationships (desirable)
  • Working knowledge of Project Management principles (preferably to have formal project management training (graduate degree, PM2/PMP Certifications, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Horizon Europe regulation
  • Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing, complex and unique technical issues, as well as present them to clients and at public forums
  • The ability to identify, analyze and solve complex and unique programmatic issues.
  • Strong familiarization with MS Office software, in particular Word, Excel, and Power Point
