Senior Piping Engineer
Position: Contract to Perm
Location: Houston, TX

Purpose:

As a Senior Piping Engineer, the successful candidate will be a part of a global team that delivers excellent project services to our customers throughout the world. The candidate will be responsible for comprehensive vibration engineering, design, and coordination services for Upstream, Mid-stream and Downstream as well as Offshore projects.

Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform root cause analysis for critical vibration issues.
• Perform Computation Fluid Dynamics analysis
• Be fluent in all types of vibration engineering including but not limited to Acoustic-induced vibration (AIV), Flow-induced vibration (FIV), mechanically induced vibration,
• Be familiar and fluent in the engineering codes related to vibration including the Energy Institute, ASME Section VIII, Div. 2, Part 5, API 579, Part 14, API 579, API 618, API 610, API 674 as well as ASME B31.3
• Perform pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II as required
• Develop robust, code-compliant vibration mitigation plans.
• Provide competent and consistent client interfacing.

Qualifications:
Qualifications:

• BS in Mechanical or related field. MS preferred,
• 8 years' experience in vibration engineering
• Proficient in pipe stress analysis software Caesar II
• Proficient in ANSYS Mechanical and Fluent with a verifiable five (5) years of experience in both under an FEA and CFD SME.
• Experience with ASME B31, B16, ASME BPVC, API 579/580,
• Experience with ASME B16 and other applicable industry standards
• Experience with equipment including:
• Centrifugal/Reciprocating compressors
  • Centrifugal/Reciprocating pumps
  • Elevated temperature design (<1000F)
  • Exotic material pressure vessels and piping
• Knowledge of the engineering development process and typical Piping Engineering deliverables such as piping isometrics, piping line classes, line designation tables, specialty items, material selection diagrams, and so on
• Proficient in 3D modelling using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD

Experience with the following:

• Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
• Minimum five (5) years' experience in Mathcad Prime,
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills

• Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to our client and its customers.
• A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the piping engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
• A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Competent use of piping engineering specific software.
• Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
• Substantial technical land practical experience in piping engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

• A recognized and relevant engineering degree.

Preferred:

• Strong knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and AutoCAD
• EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) experience
• Professional License Registration in Texas
• Experienced in generating estimates and scope of work
