About this role: Electrical Engineer

Introduction

Our client, a leading multi-billion dollar company, is embarking on an ambitious venture to construct a state-of-the-art giga factory. This facility will revolutionize our industry and redefine the way products are manufactured. Brunel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of electrical systems within this giga factory construction project. You will be responsible for overseeing the adherence to electrical construction drawing requirements, coordinating third-party inspections, representing the client during site electrical inspections, and facilitating the integration of equipment into the factory's power demand. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly understand the electrical construction drawing requirements and ensure their implementation on site, in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
• Coordinate and arrange third-party inspections at pre-determined milestones to verify compliance of the electrical installation with the construction drawings and contracted deliverables.
• Act as the client representative during all site electrical inspections, working closely with contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders to address any issues or concerns.
• Witness the commissioning of electrical HV and LV switchgear, electrical MCCs, and distribution boards to ensure proper functionality and integration into the factory's power demand.
• Collaborate with equipment manufacturers to ensure seamless integration of their products into the factory's electrical infrastructure, including verifying power demand requirements and compatibility.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team regarding electrical systems, equipment, and installations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor the progress and quality of electrical works, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as civil, mechanical, and automation engineers, to ensure effective coordination and integration of electrical systems with the overall project design.
• Identify and resolve technical issues or conflicts related to electrical systems, working closely with contractors, consultants, and equipment manufacturers to find practical solutions.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of electrical installations, inspections, commissioning processes, and equipment integration for future reference.

What you need to bring:

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing electrical systems and installations within large-scale construction projects, preferably within industrial or manufacturing sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical construction drawing requirements, electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Familiarity with third-party inspection processes and coordination.
• Experience in witnessing the commissioning of electrical HV and LV switchgear, electrical MCCs, and distribution boards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the client effectively during site inspections and coordinate with equipment manufacturers.
• Proficiency in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD or EPLAN, as well as electrical testing and measurement tools.
• Detail-oriented mindset and a commitment to ensuring the highest quality standards in electrical installations.
• Ability to analyze and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Flexibility to travel to the construction site as required.
