Intertek is looking for a Mechanical/Rotating Inspector with Millwright experience to join our US Construction group for a future position with our client in the Buras, LA area. We do not have an official start date for this phase of the project, so we are only accepting resumes at this time.
The Mechanical/Rotating Inspector is responsible for ensuring that the Project Quality Plan in conjunction with Project Execution Plan is developed and implemented. This role will promote quality awareness throughout the organization, emphasizing excellence, continuous improvement, and corrective action to influence the overall success of company business. Duties:
- Review of specifications, procedures and specified standards utilized on the construction site
- Inspection, witnessing or verification to establish the quality of a material, structure, or system
- Organization and implementation of record retention systems
- Follow the client’s QA/QC management system
- Responsible for performing all aspects of inspection activities with minimum supervision
- Monitor Mechanical Rotating Equipment operations and conduct required inspections work to resolve quality related issues with workers, subcontractors, and the client
- Check and inspect rotating equipment and/or components to ensure they meet project requirements
- Communicate with management, staff, and clients the requirements of quality's scope of work
- Verify that all site activities comply with the quality codes and standards
- Coordinate Non-destructive testing on site
- Identify and control NCRs
- Monitor project schedule and communicate with client if schedule is not being met
- Timely completion of paperwork
Requirements:
- Millwright experience is required
- Pump installation experience is a Plus
- 10+ years of inspection experience on-site with construction Mechanical Rotating Equipment
- Familiar with/able to interpret and understand a) national codes and standards and b) specifications, drawings, and data sheets as they are related to multi-discipline construction and/or pipe projects
- Fluent in English (i.e., reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with email and internet communication systems
- Ability to work well with others, multi-task, and is detailed oriented
