Senior Civil/Structural Engineer– Houston, TX

Our client is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to work within their facilities located in Houston, TX for a 12-month assignment.

The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for providing technical assurance and guidance during the development and detailed design phases of the regasification, liquefaction, infrastructure, and renewable projects being developed. The Civil/Structural/Architectural (CSA) work includes, but is not limited to, site preparation, foundation design, structural steel design and building design. The Senior Civil Engineer will evaluate the EPC Contractor deliverables to ensure the designs are safe, fit-for-purpose and meet industry codes and project specifications. This role will also monitor the construction and installation of related civil and structural activities, including site preparation work.

Responsibilities:

• Participates in assigned phases of the technical development, design, and implementation of CSA site works and facilities associated with the project.
• Participates in project development efforts by coordinating quality assurance reviews and providing feedback on engineering documents and drawings to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and specifications; recommends the implementation of efficient construction techniques and scheduling to ensure readiness for early works to support project construction.
• Develops bidding documents and recommends contract awards.
• Evaluates EPC Contractor's CSA engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria to minimize site work and associated costs.
• Reviews the EPC Contractor's CSA deliverables, submittals, material/equipment selections, construction plans and procedures; ensures that all construction activities conform to the project design documents and project specifications.
• Monitors and provides project status updates to project management and project development; advises on conditions and activities that may impact the development, completion or performance of project and facilities.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in in Civil Engineering
• Experience 8+ years in Energy or LNG Industry
• Must be able to read and interpret CSA drawings and reports, including plot plans, equipment general arrangements, and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&IDs).
• Must possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of construction practices/techniques, and project controls.

Preferred Skills:

• PE or SE license
• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
