The Infrastructure Operations Specialist II is a multi-disciplinary IT infrastructure role that requires a variety of skillsets. This role is responsible for supporting the support Core Infrastructure and End User Technology teams to improve and optimize service delivery. 

What You Will Do:

  • Subject matter expert in the onboarding process, including but not limited to scripting, system integrations, and licensing.
  • Assists Operations team with automation and configuration tools, system security management, asset management, on-prem and in the Cloud.
  • Assists End User Technologies team with the administration of the Microsoft ecosystem, including but not limited to automation of licensing, investigative requests, and overall maintenance of the ecosystem. 
  • Serves as an administrator of the EDR/XDR platform.
  • Responsible for ensuring the anti-virus of the server infrastructure is kept up to date.
  • Assists with user account administration, file rights management and backup/recovery policies and procedures.
  • Standardizes, configures, and maintains server hardware, operating systems, and associated services.
  • Participates in developing plans, schedules, and requirements for the deployment and lifecycle of systems.
  • Adheres to strict Security requirements. 
  • Reviews and recommends products and/or services that can optimize operations processes.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between the Operations and Information Security teams.
  • Acts as a point of contact for vendors, coordinating both technical and administrative issues. 
  • Works as part of a team providing technical support on infrastructure services. 
  • Mentors other members of the team in on-prem and cloud infrastructure methodologies.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires a college degree or recognized equivalent, preferably in Computer Science or related field, from an accredited university or comparable on-the-job experience. 
  • Typically requires 5-7 years of experience in administering on-prem infrastructure (i.e. AD, servers, upgrades and implementations), the Microsoft ecosystem, user administration and automation of manual tasks. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Highly skilled in scripting and automation of manual tasks.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and skillsets is a must. 
  • Advanced knowledge of AD, Azure AD, TCP/IP protocols, private, hybrid and/or public clouds, and virtualization.
  • Understanding of corporate IT policies, procedures, and standards. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Configuration Manager administration.
  • Familiarity with Server and Storage hardware.
  • Knowledge of installing rack mounted and blade servers, as well as network equipment, in standard datacenter racks.
  • Understanding of O365 and Azure workflows. 
  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in writing technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of system security best practices. 
  • Ability to perform analysis and apply results for process improvement.
  • Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental management system.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports directly to IMS Management, as appropriate.
