OPERATIONS – Business Intelligence Analyst & Developer

This Position:

•    Reports to: Business Intelligence and Reporting Manager or to Data Management Regional Lead
•    Liaises internally with Smart Execution, Global Engineer, Smart Operations, Asset Integrity Department, OIPOC department, Global BI, Other Operations departments as well as Shore Bases, Technology Dept. and IT.

•    Liaises externally with: Software Vendors.
 

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

SBM Offshore created the Lifecycle Data Management and Reporting Automation department to manage the data from entry to its destruction. The with the goal to embrace more digitally automated functions across the entire asset lifecycle. The department is responsible to manage the process related data structuration, enrichment, consolidation, contextualization, and quality through the full lifecycle. The team also coordinate with business specialists to guarantee the data is fit for purpose. 

Among digital applications, the suite of tools has been put in place in order to leverage on the data intelligence for reporting, analysis and prediction purpose:

•    IFS as ERP solution covering HSSE, Finance, CMMS areas
•    Aveva PI suite for timeseries historian and structuration
•    Fieldbox (vendor) for display front end and manual entry, analytics and predictive algorithms 
•    MS Power BI for reporting
•    Microsoft Azure technologies
•    Seeq

A Business Intelligence Analyst & Developer is responsible for designing and implementing effective business intelligence solutions that support the goals and objectives of an organization. As a BI Developer, it will be responsible for creating data visualizations, dashboards, and reports that provide insights into business performance, trends, and patterns. It will work closely with data architects, data engineers, and data analysts to ensure that data is properly integrated into the business intelligence solutions you create. Additionally, as a BI Developer, you will be responsible for ensuring that Power BI (PBI) solutions are scalable and meet the needs of business users. To be successful in this role, you should have strong technical skills, be able to analyze complex data, and have a good understanding of business intelligence concepts.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Design, develop, and implement BI solutions using Azure technology, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Warehouse, Power BI, and other Azure services
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design data models that meet business needs
•    Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into Azure data stores
•    Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and other visualizations to support data-driven decision-making
•    Perform performance tuning and optimization of BI solutions to ensure efficient and effective data retrieval

•    Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Azure technology and BI best practices
•    Provide technical support and training to users on the effective use of BI solutions

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

Experience: 2+ years of experience in BI development, with a focus on Azure technology
Specific competencies:

    Strong knowledge of Azure services, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Warehouse, Power BI, and other Azure services, or similar
    Experience with data modeling and data warehousing techniques
    Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration techniques
    Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL Server and/or Azure SQL
    Ability to design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and other visualizations
    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
