- Lead by example in following HSE rules at all times.
Activities
The major tasks are but not limited to:
- Act as Fire Fighting / Emergency Response Team Leader, lead the Fire and/or Search and Rescue Team that provides tactical response to all fire rescue and emergency on and off site.
- Establish minimum fire response protocols for identified hazards on site. Create or review Site Standard
- Operating Procedures and Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans for the organization of site fire and emergency services and address any identified risks.
- Ensure adequate fire and emergency resources are in place and operational 24/7 to manage identified HSE risks, respond to emergencies, and recovery works from incidents.
- Train and mentor, the site Firefighting and Emergency Response team members.
- Train Company’s personnel to maintain safety equipment, fire, and detection systems.
- Provide periodic fire safety information/awareness sessions to site personnel as required.
- Inspect, service and maintain fire fixed fire protection equipment on site.
- Participate in workplace hazard inspections and safety tours as required.
- Maintain safety equipment, fire and detection systems and anti-pollution equipment.
- Install and maintain signage in respect of fire safety requirements.
- Conduct drills and exercises as required by the RSES to enhance site safety.
- Provide daily reports as required on activities in relation to Fire and Emergency Response Activities
- Service and general maintenance of the company’s SCBA equipment
- Inspect test and maintain fire hose register.
- Maintain Breathing Apparatus equipment register and refilling of cylinders.
- Storekeeper for site firefighting and rescue equipment and PPE.
- Context and environment
- Rotational position (5 weeks x 5 weeks)
- Position based in Herd Base.
- Ensure that all firefighting equipment is compliant and operational as required on the PRL15 perimeter.
- Inspection and maintenance of fire protection and prevention equipment in PRL-15
- Maintain all company breathing apparatus equipment including refilling of cylinders.
- Emergency Response Team training and using realistic scenarios and available response equipment across site.
- Lead the onsite volunteer Emergency Response Team to ensure an effective response to fire, road crash rescue, aviation fire and rescue, technical rescue, hazardous materials, medical, oil spill or any other emergency deemed necessary. throughout the perimeter in the event of an emergency.
- Minimum 5 years as Fire Team Leader (or equivalent)
- PUA30613 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting) (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in leading fire and emergency rescue teams, and current knowledge of rescue techniques and equipment.
- Advanced First Aid
- Heavy vehicle drivers’ license
- Experience in the coordination of remote search and rescue operations
- Experience in the maintenance and operation of Breathing Apparatus and gas detection equipment
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and databases
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 (preferred)
