Contract Type: Permanent
Main missions:
An Instrument Technician is responsible for ensuring allotted instrumentation work is carried out safely and efficiently and that his supervisor is made aware of all activities according to procedure, especially where safety is an issue. The Instrument Technician is authorised to maintain Instrument assets and systems safely.
Dismantle and Reassemble Instrumentation Equipment
- Identify potential sources of hazard prior to dismantling.
- Use correct procedures and correct method of dismantling.
- Carry out the correct isolation and disconnection procedure.
- Identify, check and prepare components.
- Apply appropriate tests and test equipment to ensure reassembly is correct and effective.
Monitor and Maintain the condition of Instrumentation Equipment.
- Adjust instruments to meet the operating specification.
- Make adjustments with minimum disruption to any ongoing activities and minimum waste of resources.
- Monitor and record what has been carried out in work history or log.
Job requirements
School/studies/degree:
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related FPSO field
Experience:
- At least 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience and knowledge of hydrocarbon processing systems and utilities.
- Proven experience and/or qualified to N/SVQ/HNC/HND in Instrument Engineering or local equivalent.
