As a Health & Safety Advisor in the energy sector, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety programs, policies, and procedures to safeguard employees, contractors, and the environment. You will work closely with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify and assess potential health and safety hazards within energy operations and facilities.
- Stay up to date with local, state, and federal regulations related to health and safety in the energy sector and ensure compliance.
- Develop, review, and update health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Organize and provide training programs to educate employees and contractors on safety protocols and procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and make recommendations for preventive measures.
- Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to prepare employees for potential emergencies or disasters.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and rectify potential safety issues.
- Promote a strong safety culture by fostering awareness, reporting mechanisms, and accountability among all employees.
- Ensure that energy operations meet environmental standards and minimize environmental impact.

Job Requirements
- Certification/Diploma/Degree in related field
- Experienced in health and safety roles, with specific experience in the energy sector being highly valuable.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal safety regulations relevant to the energy industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and communicate safety policies to employees and contractors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risks and develop safety solutions.
