About this role: Cost Engineer
On behalf of our client, a High Profile Global Oil & Gas / Energy Operator, Brunel is actively recruiting a Cost Engineer for a 12 month contract located in the Perth CBD.
You will work across multiple scopes of work of varying maturity across the Capital Projects portfolio and deliver efficient and standardised Cost outcomes, processes, systems, tools and deliverables in supporting successful Delivery Team outcomes.
- Implements cost control, cost risk, contingency and procedures
- Collaborates with Planning to implement Work (WBS), Organisational Breakdown Structures (OBS) and linkage of these to Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) for the selected work scopes
- Liaises with Finance to ensure established accounting processes, systems and procedures are incorporated into Factory cost procedures
- Advises/guides Delivery Teams in cost, cost trending, cost risk activities
- Participates in risk and opportunity-based Cost Scenario Analysis
- Participate in Benchmarking, incorporation of lessons learned and establish cost Competitive Performance targets
- Responsible for the maintenance of the Factory cost system
- Contribute to contract closeout reports
- Generates cost reports
- Develop, implement and enable continuous improvement of standardised, repeatable and consistent Cost processes, playbooks and digital analytic tools to enhance cost engineering methods
- Communicate with stakeholders
- Assist with Business Planning
What you need to bring:
- Experience in developing and implementing Cost Engineering/Project Controls deliverables across all phases of Capital Projects
- Previous experience in developing and maintaining Project Controls Plan
- Ability to liaise with Finance & Supply Chain Management Groups to ensure integration of established accounting, SCM and Contractor processes, systems and procedures are incorporated into Cost deliverables.
- Ability to develop, use and maintain comprehensive cost management systems, digital analytic tools – ie Finance Systems - JDE, SCM systems, Business Planning processes (including AFE and WP&B) and other key data interface systems – will be advantageous
- Knowledge and experience with cost benchmarking and lessons learned to drive competitiveness on Capital Projects – desirable
- Experience with cost estimating, assurances, approvals processes including key business activities such as Business Planning and funding processes - desirable
