Senior Fabrication Supervisor

On behalf of a major EPC company, WRS are looking for a Senior Fabrication Supervisor to work in Uganda on a contract, rotational basis. This will be a 12 month renewable contract, rotating 8/2, paying an hourly rate in USD.

The role will be supporting the construction or a large cross-country crude oil pipeline.

Job Duties include:

• Directly supporting the EPcmC staff & the CONTRACTORs ensuring delivery of the pipeline and associated AGI, EITS and MST facilities are on-time and to budget.
• To provide on the job training and coaching to local content personnel, liaising either directly or indirectly with training providers to ensure training is provided and performance monitoring of such.
• Work as directed by the Lot Manager within the allocated construction work packages issued
• Implement, use and communicate safe work practices on and off the project sites
• Inspecting construction sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
• Attend regular site meetings for project scheduling, contractor performance, materials and vendors.
• Ensure that CONTRACTORS' are fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of work.

Ideal candidate will have

• Tertiary/Professional qualification in materials/welding or other Company agreed applicable discipline qualifications that support the fabrication management and construction execution of the onshore pipeline and related AGI, EITS and MST facilities work scopes.
• A minimum 15 years site greenfield construction fabrication experience working in the Oil & Gas sectors.
• Extensive knowledge of, and/or a certification in CSWIP/AWS welding Inspection
• Demonstrated experience in similar lead roles on large pipeline or process plant projects.
• 8 years of construction experience working within a cross-functional oil & gas pipeline project team supporting; field engineering, interface, contractor construction and completion readiness.
