Department
QatarEnergy’s Internal Audit Department provides independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of the company's governance, risk management and internal control environment. Teams of audit professionals undertake audit assignments within the company.
We are seeking a self-motivated and innovative individual for the Head IT Audits position within the Corporate Internal Audit Department. The position is highly visible to the executive management, compliance professionals and other employees in the organization. The ideal candidate should have experience with and deep understanding of the Oil and Gas Industry and regulatory practices. As part of our continuous growth and commitment to best practices, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of IT Internal Audits to join our team.
The ideal candidate must have:
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Post graduate professional qualification or Certification in relevant auditing or IT security (e.g., CISA, CISSP) is a plus.
A minimum of 10 years internal auditing experience, including 5 years industry experience and at least 5 years in IT or IT auditing.
Excellent communication and leadership skills are required to successfully engage management in discussion on key issues and the need to drive change.
Leadership skills that demonstrate and promote commitment to ethical standards.
Primary purpose of job
Provide specialist IT audit services by leading and supervising the planning and execution of IT audits in accordance with the Departments approved audit plan and International Auditing Standards to ensure the effectiveness, integrity, and availability of the company's information technology systems and processes.
Experience & Skills
1. Has a minimum of 10 years internal auditing experience, including 5 years industry experience and at least 5 years in IT or IT auditing.
2. Extensive experience in IT auditing, with a proven track record of leadership.
3. Strong knowledge of IT auditing principles, standards, and methodologies.
4. Information Technology: Proficiency in IT systems, cybersecurity, data analytics and emerging technologies relevant to the company’s operations.
5. Risk Assessment: Ability to identify, assess, and prioritize IT-related risks that could impact the company’s operations and financials.
6. Compliance: Knowledge of relevant international and industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) and ensuring compliance.
7. Leadership: Strong leadership skills to manage a team of auditors, set strategic directions, and drive results.
8. Communication: Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
9. Problem-Solving: Analytical and critical thinking abilities to address complex IT issues and find practical solutions.
10. Project Management: Proficiency in managing audit projects, budgets, and timelines effectively.
11. Data Analysis: Ability to use data analysis tools and techniques to extract insights from audit data.
12. Collaboration: Collaboration with other departments and external partners to ensure audit findings are addressed appropriately.
13. Change Management: Ability to adapt to evolving IT environments and lead the audit function through technological transformations.
14. Auditing Tools: Familiarity with audit management software and data analysis tools.
15. Crisis Management: Preparedness to respond to and mitigate IT-related crises and incidents.
Education
