A Wells Engineer is required to work on an initial 12 month contract basis based in Aberdeen in the Oil & Gas sector.

As the Wells Engineer, you will be able to work on a hybrid working set up of 3 days in the office per week and 2 days working from home.

Description
Purpose of Role:
o As the Wells Engineer, you will provide well engineering and operational expertise such that all assigned abandonment activities can be performed safely, on budget and on time.
o Ensure abandonment designs meet well objectives and comply with standards and regulations

MAE/MATTE and HSE Critical Responsibilities:
o As the Wells Engineer, you will ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe and environmentally prudent manner, complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and company HSEQ procedures.

o Ensure abandonment designs comply with standards and regulations

Areas of Responsibility Competence Level:
o As the Wells Engineer, you will support feasibility studies, develop abandonment concepts & Basis of Design
o Develop realistic cost estimates which reflect an appropriate level of contingency
o Conduct risk assessments / identify mitigation plans
o As the Wells Engineer, you will recommend implementation of new techniques and practices.
o As the Wells Engineer, you will specify & procure equipment.
o Compile information for regulatory permits & well examination.
o Manage contractor interfaces (including expediting & QA).
o As the Wells Engineer, you will compile detailed abandonment programmes, supported by relevant specialists.
o As the Wells Engineer, you will provide onshore support (Daily Operational Plan & MOPS review, engineering analysis, problem resolution, cost & performance tracking etc) during abandonment operations.

o Provide offshore support as agreed.
o As the Wells Engineer, you will carry out post well review & reporting.
o Perform weekend duty as required
o As the Wells Engineer, you will perform Contract Management as required.
o Any other reasonable duty as per instruction by your manager.

Critical Skills, Qualifications Experience, etc.:
o Relevant Honours Engineering Degree, and/or equivalent industry experience
o As the Wells Engineer, you will have a depth of technical experience in well design, operations & management
o As the Wells Engineer, you will have a breadth of technical experience across range of well disciplines - drilling, completions, interventions, integrity, production etc

o Knowledge of industry standards
o Safety: Actively communicates and takes time to safely perform work to protect our people and environment
o Builds positive relationships across the organisation (Well Ops, Decom, vendors, Well Examiners) to foster a strong work environment

o Decision Making: generates effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions.
o Results Orientation: Actively communicates and takes time to safely perform work
o Adaptability: responds resourcefully, flexibly and positively when faced with new challenges and demands
o Planning: develops realistic plans needed to accomplish objectives
o May be required to go offshore (ad hoc)
