Accountant - Oil and Gas Products and Services - Permanent role based in Brisbane CBD

Key Responsibilities: In the role of Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• Collaborating with operational teams as a finance business partner to address their financial requirements.
• Conducting intricate financial modeling and developing reports to aid strategic decision-making.
• Playing a crucial role in the budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure financial objectives are achieved.
• Performing cost and variance analysis, offering essential financial support to all stakeholders.
• Executing journal entries during the month-end close process to maintain precise financial reporting.

Role Requirements: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Completion of CA/CPA studies or active pursuit of this qualification.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in financial or management accounting, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in reporting from an ERP system.
• Self-motivated with exceptional relationship management skills.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrable commercial and time management skills.
• Experience in reading and interpreting contracts related to the oil and gas sector.
• Competency in US GAAP and SOX requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
