Electrical or Mechanical Engineer in High-Voltage for Eco-GIS

Our newly founded R&D Center aims at developing eco-friendly solutions to energize the planet, focusing on circuit-breakers and gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) with clean gas. To fulfil this goal, we are looking for motivated talent to join our growing team of multinational researchers. They have been developing their products and services during the past four decades since when Gas Circuit Breaker (GCB) for 170kV was first developed in 1978. Throughout the experience, we have successfully supplied to forty different countries with our products of which rated voltage up to 800kV.

The mission of our team is to bring innovative and environmental-friendly gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) from research into product development. We are looking at the next generations of components protecting the electrical grid to transmit energy in a safe and clean way. By joining us, you will participate to the generation of new ideas, explore their feasibility through fundamental research work, implement them in prototypes and develop advanced technologies for Hyosung's products.

This position reports to R&D (Senior) Engineer

Your responsibilities

• Building, setting-up and maintaining high-voltage (>100 kV) and high-current (>20 kA) laboratories for R&D
• Ensuring at all times health and safety of the staff and equipment
• Developing dedicated measurement devices for research activities in eco-gas GIS
• Preparing and implementing experimental set-ups in collaboration with scientific staff
• Contributing to the scientific results and improving experimental procedures
• Executing experimental tests in laboratories
• Interacting and actively communicating with scientific staff and development team

Your background

• At least a master thesis in electrical or mechanical engineering
• More than 5 years of experience in high voltage laboratories
• Knowledgeable in measuring techniques for high-voltage (>100 kV) and high-current (>20 kA)
• Experience with CAD software
• Team player and able to work responsibly and independently
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written
• Enjoy working in an international environment
