Our client is seeking a Full-Time Electrical Engineer to support US based LNG export facility and service the global demand for North American natural gas. This Houston-based position will support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with the Engineering team to ensure the safety, suitability, and adherence to operational standards of the facilities.
  • Reviews deliverables from EPC contractors such as data sheets, design bases, specifications, calculations, vendor documents, studies, reports, and scopes of work.
  • Participates in design development, resolves design issues, optimizes facility design, and identifies opportunities to enhance cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensures projects comply with safety standards, meet quality criteria, and adhere to budget and schedule requirements.
  • Contributes to the development of electrical equipment documentation including data sheets, drawings, material requisitions, technical evaluations, and specifications for various electrical equipment types.
  • Participates in technical assessments including process hazard analyses, 3D model reviews, and constructability reviews.
  • Supports factory and site acceptance testing for major equipment items such as motors, VFDs, and transformers.
  • Facilitates technical discussions related to electrical equipment with stakeholders including suppliers, regulators, and technology partners.
  • Oversees the establishment and implementation of equipment monitoring and preservation programs to maintain facility reliability and availability.
  • Participates in commissioning activities including walk-downs, inspections, and pre-start-up safety reviews.
  • Supervises on-site activities of EPC contractors to ensure compliance with project standards, specifications, designs, and contractual terms.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role on major oil, gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial projects, either in an EPC or operator capacity.
  • Preferably, 2 years of experience on LNG liquefaction projects.
  • Experience in producing electrical documentation and specifications.
  • Familiarity with layout and hazardous area reviews to ensure safe and maintainable equipment installation.
  • Proficiency with electrical modeling software such as ETAP or SKM, including studies like Load Flow, Protection & Coordination, and Motor Starting.
  • Experience with critical electrical equipment found in rotating equipment packages, such as motors, VFDs, and transformers.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical safety requirements and relevant standards from NFPA, API, IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA.
  • Familiarity with Power Management Systems, Electrical Management Systems, or Electrical Control and Monitoring systems.
  • Technical understanding of various electrical equipment types including switchgear, transformers, motors, generators, and capacitor banks.
  • Working knowledge of HV and MV distribution systems, relay protection schemes, EMC requirements, electric lighting, cathodic protection, grounding, and cable systems.
  • Understanding of instrumentation, telecommunications, and security systems.
  • Operations and Maintenance (O&M) experience with rotating equipment in oil, gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
