What you'll do:
Intertek Alchemy is seeking a Director of Product Management to join the Product Engineering Team. The ideal candidate is a people manager who is responsible for leading the Product Management team through the full lifecycle of work from concept to post-production support and maintenance of software applications. This position will lead a team of Product Managers and Product Owners to create measurable value and deliver software to market using industry recognized agile methodologies and best practices.
Responsibilities:
Provide product vision and strategy and contribute to business strategy.
Understand industry, software products, competition and our relationship to current and future marketplace. Owner of acquisition target strategy.
Develop and own roadmap for products.
Keep current on industry and propose future solutions.
Own the prioritization and flow of product feedback and feature enhancements.
Ensure that user-centered thinking is a key driver for teams.
Responsible for guiding staff professional development, including providing opportunities for training and education, and challenging staff to learn and apply skills and methods to help the organization achieve its goals.
Assess project, process, and product interaction and risk.
Own the budget; track budgets and variances.
Organize and make department and company-wide presentations.
Set consistent best practices and standards.
Interact internally and externally with executive level management, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters. Influence policymaking.
Partner with technologists to introduce innovative concepts and new technology ideas.
Participate with other managers to establish strategic plans and department-level goals that improve breadth and depth of staff skills.
Support due diligence activities for acquisition targets.
Actively solicit participation, feedback, and discussion from cross functional groups, especially stakeholders.
Maintain balance of business and technical acumen in decision making.
Manage and report on team productivity and accountability. Propose metrics and guide team with continuous improvement mindset.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, in computer science or related field.
10+ years of experience in a role involved in software development.
4+ years of lead or managerial experience.
Must possess strong leadership skills, a keen business sense and a focus on "adding value" to the organization.
Excellent relationship building skills.
Proven ability to assemble, lead, and strategize with cross-functional teams.
High level of energy, organizational skills, and customer focus.
Ability to verify and define requirements for projects and products.
Experience with data privacy practices and regulations (e.g., PCI, PII, PHI, HIPAA, GDPR, ADA).
Preferred Experience:
Masters in relevant field is preferred.
Experience with Learning Management software.
Experience using SAFe methodology.
Experience with several staff growth periods, fiscal responsibility, mentoring of other managers, and hiring staff.
