Join TotalEnergies Renewables USA, LLC as an Interconnection & Transmission Analyst - contractor reporting to our Austin, TX, office .

The Interconnection & Transmission Analyst position supports all transmission and interconnection-related development activities for solar, wind, hybrid, and standalone storage projects. The candidate will assist in interconnection and transmission processes from project initiation through Interconnection Agreement execution in the U.S. markets.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 3-5 years' experience as a transmission planning, transmission, or interconnection engineer; renewable experience preferred.
  • Experience performing power flow simulations using PSS/E, PowerWorld, PSLF, and/or TARA.
  • Essential knowledge and experience with economic transmission planning and studies in UPLAN, PROMOD, PLEXOS, etc.
  • Good working knowledge of the RTO/ISO transmission planning and generation interconnection processes of one or more of the following markets: CAISO, PJM, SPP, MISO, or other eastern interconnection markets/areas.
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to ensure clear communication internally with other departmental teams

Activities

  • Perform and summarize transmission and power flow analyses to develop actionable information and report findings to development teams and other groups.
  • Evaluate and track changes to transmission and interconnection tariffs, costs, timelines, queues, and processes for various markets.
  • Check, review, or develop interconnection applications and study agreements with associated drawings and specifications.
  • Provide routine updates, ensuring project management database has accurate information as it pertains to project POI, market, and study status. Ensure file server is maintained with most recent report/agreement files.
  • Manage consultants performing interconnection modeling and studies including load flow studies of current and future utility system conditions.
  • Provide technical support for various types of renewable energy projects to different teams within the organization.
