TotalEnergies Refining & Chemicals is transforming to achieve its 2030 sustainable development objectives in biofuels, recycled plastics and bioplastics. Innovation management ensures 4 missions to support this transformation: acculturation to innovation, facilitation of creativity and collective intelligence workshops and design thinking missions, open-innovation and management of portfolio for duplicating innovations. It is not intended to innovate on its own. Focused on business innovations, it provides support to entities in Europe, America and the East. Its workforce is 5 people supported by a communications unit of 2 work-study students.

The major objective of the innovation officer is to support the professions in their transformation in order to serve the ambition of Refining Chemistry: industrial competitiveness including Safety, growth in petrochemicals, low-carbon products. The innovation officer is agile and his/her mission can vary over the months and the needs of his/her internal clients. However, its primary mission is to support professions in their need to innovate, from the emergence of a problem to the implementation of solutions. Its activities consist of defining needs, designing workshops and running them, and monitoring the implementation of innovations. The other innovation management activities nevertheless remain within its scope.
The innovation officer in Brussels works in concert and with the support of the team in Paris. He/She reports to the Director of the Financial Operations Division for administrative reasons because no person from the entity (IVM) is present in Brussels. IVM, to which RC innovation belongs, also integrates digital. As he/she will be the only member of the IVM in Brussels, he/she will have to make contacts within the other entities present on site.
