Candidate Profile

  • You hold a master's degree in Finance or an equivalent
  • You have at least a 10-year experience in financial analysis in a bank or commodity trading company.
  • Good knowledge of English, instruments used in international trade and risk analysis
  • Good knowledge of information tools such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ and reporting tools including Power BI and Power Point
  • Good interpersonal skills, availability, analytical skills and ability to summarize, rigour and responsiveness.

This is why TotalEnergies installed naturally its European trading hub across oil and biofuels, natural gas and electricity in Geneva, which now bring together very large teams around trading activities: Trading & Shipping (T&S) and TotalEnergies Gas and Power (TGP).

T&S is a trading company in charge of all physical trading and shipping of crude oil and refined products on behalf of the TotalEnergies Company. It has been an active participant all over the supply chain as well as on the derivatives paper market in order to manage the market risk for a long time. ). As such, it operates in fast-evolving market dynamics influenced by internal and external factors that require constant adaptation and evolution.

What you will do

  • Analysis of KYC and liquidity/financial solvency of each counterparty, drafting of a summary note, recommendation or approval of a credit limit and term for each counterparty
  • Control of daily outstanding amounts (Physical and Derivatives) in the information systems, compliance with previously defined credit limits and terms (identification and management of exceptions), initiation of hedging mechanisms (insurance, netting clauses), reporting
  • Contribute to the development and support of the trading activity within a secure framework
  • Control of internal procedures
  • Gathering and analysing market information, monitoring counterparties, setting up alerts, calculating/updating default rates for the calculation of CVA/CVAR on an identified derivatives book, carrying out studies on the macro-economic and competitive environment of business sectors
  • Knowledge of underlying transactions and legal frameworks, close collaboration with clients/suppliers
  • Mastery of financial tools to reduce our financial exposure

Context & Environment

Part of a team managing more than 1200 counterparty groups, representing total credit limits of more than US$250 million for the Derivatives business, and more than US$7 billion for the Physical business

External counterparties: banking/insurance market and counterparties

Internal contacts: Traders, Traders, Legal, Contract, Compliance, Treasury, Controlling.
