The Field Technician is responsible for operational, mechanical and instrument\electrical functions; such as inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. This work includes such activities as supervising/directing field crews, maintaining pipelines in compliance with contracts, regulations, and safety considerations, coordinating with on-site contractors, and ensuring cost effective and safe operations. Employee(s) in this position may have some environmental or safety activities associated with their responsibilities.

Responsibilities May Include:

• Conducts routine inspection of equipment and facilities (equipment health, security, AVO- Audio, Visual, Olfactory), operation of liquid handling systems, and operation of dehydration systems
• Conducts pipeline pigging, hydrate management, etc.
• Responsible for Startup, Shutdown, and operating gas compression equipment
• Maintains pipeline ROW such as markers, signs, and vegetation, exposures
• Maintains One-Call - Pipeline Locating, encroachment, excavation & Crossing
• Maintains records in accordance with Pipeline regulatory requirements
• Conducts routine inspection, calibration and repair of meter and associated equipment (meter tube/plates, ultrasonic meter, flow computer)
• Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, manual valve actuators, etc.
• Performs maintenance and repair of and fixed equipment such as filters (all types), strainers, dehydration systems, etc.
• Conducts routine inspection, such as transmitters, switches, fire eyes, hazardous gas detection, level detection, etc.
• Operate PLC, HMI equipment, software, pipeline valves and actuators
• Maintain and repair motor control equipment

Required Qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 or more years of oil and gas operations experience
• Maintain a valid driver's license
• Willing and able to with or without reasonable accommodations:
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally exerts pulling force of 130 pounds
  • Regularly stoops, squats, kneels, and crouches for durations up to 30 minutes.
  • Works extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Works safely near large, hot, high-speed machines.
  • Work inside gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
  • Work in loud environment
  • Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the gas plant
  • Occasionally may climb A-frame ladders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Work experience in Pipeline maintenance or operation and natural gas compression

Midstream

Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals.
