The Pipeliner - Levelland, TX will work independently and with other personnel to maintain, operate equipment and processes in the Midstream business unit. Some of the processes involve hazardous and volatile materials under high temperature and pressure. Typical working conditions include: outside weather and elements, blowing air, heat, noise, vibration and occasionally working from heights and confined spaces. Operators must follow safe work practices in accordance with Phillips 66 Pipeline Company safety standards, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities May Include:
  • Performing routine pipeline and required valve maintenance.
  • Operating valves.
  • Assisting with construction and maintenance projects.
  • Promoting a safe work environment and safety culture to deliver excellent HSE performance.
  • Ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient performance of maintenance and operation activities; monitoring and enforcing safety rules at work facilities.
  • Assisting with the development, updating and implementation of Site-Specific Procedures.
  • Performing as the Incident Commander during emergencies.
  • Responsibility for safety of self, peer employees and contractors.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion of paperwork.
  • Responding to operational upsets and/or emergencies and assisting in maintaining emergency equipment.
  • Completing mandated safety and regulatory training (Computer Based Training).
  • Maintaining effective and professional relationships with pipeline customers and vendors; responding promptly and effectively to customer needs.
  • Performing environmental, company and regulatory checks as necessary.
  • Eliminating, containing, and reporting any and all product releases.
  • Identifying and promptly communicating operational and equipment problems to supervisor and/or completing trouble reports.
  • Performing housekeeping duties.
  • Willing to work outside immediate area.
  • Knowledge of emergency response processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of DOT and state regulated pipeline systems and Right of Way requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license
  • Willingness and ability to perform and comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodations:
    • To climb up to 20 feet using both inclined and vertical ladders
    • To lift up to 50 pounds
    • To push and pull forces up to 100 pounds
    • To operate a forklift
    • To respond to emergency calls as needed
    • To remain on call as needed
    • To work overtime on an as-needed basis
    • To wear personal protective equipment (such as fire-retardant clothing, steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
    • To work outside in harsh weather conditions
    • To work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos
    • To work with chemicals and bases
    • To work with hydrocarbons that are under high pressure and heat

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 or more years of direct operational experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Relevant Military experience
  • Safety and environmental alertness, and promotes a safe work environment by complying with all procedures, rules and regulations
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in SAP
  • Working knowledge of refined products, NGL and/or crude oil quality specifications
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and rotating equipment
  • Working knowledge of process controls and oil movements
  • Working knowledge of P&ID drawings

Midstream

Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 22,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
