The Lab Associate performs Quality Control inspection of all incoming raw materials, in-process production, and manufactured products using laboratory instruments to ensure products meet required specification. Will ensure customer contracts are met from a Quality and Customer Service focus.

Responsibilities May Include:
  • Perform analytical quality control on all incoming, in-process and final of raw materials and finished products to ensure specification guidelines are met.
  • Perform required ASTM or Proprietary test method.
  • Ability to determine instrument reliability, instrument capabilities, and instrument performance.
  • Manage overall Lab operations
  • Perform required calibrations test as per the quality program.
  • Order and maintain all laboratory operating supplies and spare parts.
  • Perform Repeatability studies per MSA on lab equipment in service, to determine appropriate competency level.
  • Ensure appropriate records are kept on all lab equipment.
  • Maintaining compliance with all laboratory QA/QC/Statistical Quality Control policies and procedures and ISO certifications.
  • Lab blends, reporting, pulling & shipping of requested samples.
  • Determine and drive operational equipment improvements/optimization
  • Review/validate all procedures and documents for your area
  • Serve on one of the site core teams
  • Manage own training requirements
  • Report Environmental, Safety, Quality near misses and incidents Coordination of efforts between production and customer service such as last minute changes with the schedule
  • Participate on Lab FET conference calls

Required Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Working knowledge of ASTM testing methods (Vol. 5.1, 5.2, and 5.3)
  • Working knowledge of Quality Awareness within a QS9000 system
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skills, Mathematical skills, teamwork and leadership
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Self-starter and ongoing self-improver
  • Willing and able to, with or without reasonable accommodation, perform the following:
    • Able to lift 40lbs
    • Climb stairs/ladders
    • Ability to work extended hours and/or shift work
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (including Excel) and SAP
  • Ability to function in a support role to assist Plant Associates in resolving quality and Customer Service related problems and issues

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 or more years of experience working in a lab environment
  • Proficient in Chartrunner
