Job SummaryDescription

If you are selected as the Lead Operations Specialist, you will lead commissioning and start-up efforts to provide technical and operational services to Licensed facilities using the proprietary ConocoPhillips Optimized Cascade® process. This role will support EPC contractors throughout all project phases for future and current Licensees. This position may also provide operational experience while contributing to technical services for onsite support of Licensees.

This role requires a willingness and ability to rotate both domestically and internationally. This flexibility allows us to meet our organizational needs and provides valuable experience and exposure for the employee. Please consider this requirement before applying.
Job Description
Responsibilities may include:
  • Lead multi-year commissioning and start-up support efforts for Licensees
  • Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to LNG Operators supporting construction, commissioning and start-up of Optimized Cascade® facilities
  • Maintain a strong focus on process safety and lead by example to influence both EPC's and Licensees in a positive manner
  • Prepare and provide Optimized Cascade® training to Licensees
  • Support LNG client / EPC operations supervision as a contributing member of the EPC contractor commissioning and start-up team
  • Ensure that cold boxes, vessels, heat exchangers, and piping are clean and correctly fabricated and installed prior to commissioning. Support/lead inspections at Licensed facilities and fabrication sites
  • Support & complete LNG train P&ID walk downs prior to start-up
  • Provide support & guidance to Licensees regarding troubleshooting, resolving operational difficulties & facility optimization
  • Direct ConocoPhillips commissioning & start-up team day-to-day activities
  • Review and create commissioning, start-up and standard operating procedures
  • Develop energy isolation procedures, permit to work authorizations, job hazard assessments in accordance with EPC standards

Basic/Required:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Currently hold or have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to obtain a passport
  • 5+ years of experience as a Distributed Control System operator
  • 5+ years of experience in plant turnaround and/or plant start-up support
  • 5+ years of experience in facility operations
  • 3+ years of experience in operations and/or operations support of an Optimized Cascade® Process facility and/or cryogenic process plant experience (LNG, gas plant or ethylene)
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel for extended periods, both domestically and internationally, on a 28 & 28 rotation and/or a 14 & 14 rotation

Preferred:
  • 10+ years of experience in facility operations
  • Supervisory experience leading a multi-disciplinary team
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Results oriented, individually motivated with the ability to lead/inspire team members
  • Ability to motivate and include all team members to improve team performance
  • Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
  • Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
  • Listens actively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve results
