The role operates as a Global Engineering expert towards a continuous improvement in reducing operational risks, increasing revenue and optimizing cost across all sites worldwide, through:

• Development and deployment of world class practices and functional expertise
  
• Identifying and implementing improvement opportunities through internal and external networks, systems, benchmarks and assessments
  
• Networking & knowledge management and providing training
  

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Leadership

• Identify, evaluate and recommend improvement needs for Power Distribution safety aspects.
  
• Identify, evaluate and develop engineering Best Practices (BP) related to Power Distribution.
  
• Monitor the market for new ideas, innovations and identify novel solutions for life cycle management of Power Distribution.
  
• Engage with key OEMs to address design issues affecting asset reliability and to maintain knowledge of upcoming technological improvements.
  
• Lead/participate in Power Distribution Expert Group.
  
• Lead technical global initiatives/project in his area of expertise.
  

Strategy and Planning

• Support to develop and manage the Power Distribution annual and five-year work plans with specific deliverables for this area of expertise.
  
• Conduct regular Performance Killer analysis based on actual production loss data and RCA's to generate Resolution Plans (PKRP) that recommend specific actions to mitigate common failure modes.
  

Technical Support and Engagement

• Provide technical support to the Power Distribution Expert group.
  
• Evaluate Power Distribution technologies and applications analysis and recommend the best feasible Power Distribution technologies to sites.
  
• Evaluate outputs of study, compare with observed behavior and offer resolution to Power Distribution issues.
  
• Provide technical support & consultation to resolve chronic failures/issues.
  
• Support Manufacturing in technical audits/assessments/cold eye reviews and remaining life assessment initiatives.
  
• Participate in failure analysis and support RCA of actual/potential incidents.
  
• Provide expert knowledge on safety and reliability related programs.
  

Knowledge and Network Management

• Lead internal and participate in and/or lead external technical networks, forums, conferences and committees that have considerable Power Distribution content.
  
• Manage the Power Distribution Expert Group.
  
• Assure the change management of developed Best Practices, solutions and recommendations.
  

Competency Development, Mentoring and Coaching

• Develop and delivery of specialized, quality training to manufacturing engineers.
  
• Develop, maintain and retain top-quality Power Distribution expertise by effective training, mentoring and coaching.
