About Beaumont

With a population of more than 118,000, Beaumont ,Texas, is located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, on the Neches River, about 85 miles east of Houston, the nation's fourth largest city. Beaumont has been a home to the oil industry from the days of the Spindletop oil boom until today, and along with nearby Port Arthur and Orange, is part of the Golden Triangle industrial area on the Texas Gulf Coast. Built along the banks of the Neches River in 1903, the original ExxonMobil Beaumont refining facilities have grown into an integrated petrochemical complex on 2,700 acres and have contributed to the economic and social landscape of southeast Texas. What role you will play in our team

API Inspector will be the primary point of contact for planning, conducting, and documenting inspections and recommendations of stationary equipment (pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchangers, piping, valves, etc.) as part of risk based mechanical integrity system. This is a day position, subject to future changes based on business need and located in Beaumont, TX.

What you will do

  • Performs basic Non-Destructive Examinations and reviews inspection reports to ensure compliance with company risk based standards
  • Ensures compliance of all assets to regulatory and API inspection codes
  • Update and maintain digital equipment records
  • Performs API 510 and 570 fitness for service and remaining life evaluations
  • Participates in long term reliability and remaining life assessments for equipment
  • Provides support to maintenance and operations organization executing repairs
  • Assists fixed equipment engineers in developing repair plans, rerates and modifications
  • Issues inspection recommendations based on findings
  • Provides input in developing annual maintenance and Turnaround work lists

About you

Skills and Qualifications

  • Current API 510 or 570 certifications
  • Previous experience as embedded plant inspector with unit responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate inspection findings or recommendations to non-inspection personnel

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • API 570, 510, 653 and CWI certifications
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME Sec I, VIII, B31.1, B31.1, API 653, 579)
  • Knowledge of risk-based methodology and equipment degradations (API 580/581)
  • Familiarity with SAP or Access inspection database systems
  • Basic knowledge of metallurgy and corrosion associated with refinery/petrochemical process
  • Working knowledge with office-based programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and frequent changes in priorities
