JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Senior Engineer - Electrical will be responsible for the preparation and review of designs, studies, reports and drawings. Engineers are also expected to lead the electrical design and review package and engage with clients and key stakeholders.

We are searching for a candidate who is looking to bring their experience into a fast paced consultancy environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and delivery of a variety of projects from early conceptual and feasibility design, through to contract and construction management of renewable projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The principal responsibility of this post is leading the delivery of technical tasks such as:

• Preparing and reviewing electrical designs, studies, reports and drawings
• Lead the electrical package and interface directly with Client's, network companies and other third parties
• Prepare proposals and management of the Client relationships
• Assess costs and risks of electrical designs and installations
• Attending site meetings, surveys and quality inspection of site works
• Preparation of reports
• The role will involve some supervision and mentoring of less experienced staff

QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:

• Bachelor's (Or Masters) Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Technical schedules for EPC/BOP contracts and Turbine Supply Agreements
• Knowledge Standards including Grid Code, Engineering recommendations including G99, IEC and BS technical standards
• Technical knowledge of electrical networks and their components (switchgear, cables, OHLs, transformers and reactive compensation equipment etc)
• Renewable generation including Wind and Solar PV technologies
• SCADA, industrial control and communication systems and standards
• Protection and control equipment requirements associated with transmission, distribution and renewable projects

Desirable:

• Experience of development or operation of renewable energy projects, or transferable experience from power, offshore, or other relevant industries
• Relevant design, manufacturing, construction or operational experience
• Commercial understanding and experience
• Relevant training in project and safety management
• Knowledge of forms of contract and/or experience in contract negotiations
• Willingness to domestic and international travel including possible site assignments up to 25% of time.
