JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Review and understand all relevant documentation pertaining to the Project including scope of services, conditions of contract, Project execution plan, Project schedule and WIEPPL scope of work. Verify and ensure completeness of the scope of work associated with the project.
  • Prepare Project Control procedures suitable for the project, in case of domestic projects. Review Project Control interface/ coordination on the Project, agree and obtain approval from Leading Entity Project Control Manager for workshare projects.
  • Define and agree the Planning requirements and reporting calendar with the Project Manager in case of domestic projects and Leading Entity Lead Planning Engineer / Project Controls Manager for workshare projects.
  • Define and agree the Cost engineering requirements and reporting calendar with the Project Manager in case of domestic projects and Leading Entity Lead Cost Engineer / Project Controls Manager for workshare projects.
  • Prepare activity plans to accomplish all work required by the procedures and to ensure sufficient manpower availability.
  • Allocate work to Project Control engineers.
  • Direct and control the work of Project Control engineers assigned to the Project.
  • Supervise preparation and updating of schedules and disseminate schedule information to all concerned disciplines on the Project.
  • Prepare man hour, material quantity and cost budgets for WIEPPL from the overall Project budget, update them on approval of contract changes and budget transfers.
  • Disseminate budget information to all operating groups providing clarifications and additional information where required.
  • Maintain Manpower Projection Plan and provide updates as per agreed calendar.
  • Provide analysis for WIEPPL progress and productivity and suggest corrective actions.
  • Identify and analyse deviations and trends against budgets, investigate such deviations with the relevant group and advise Project Manager of issues requiring corrective action.
  • Prepare cost reports and CPRs as required by the project and analyse deviations from budget / previous forecast.
  • Coordinate Short term look ahead schedule meetings.
  • Review procurement activities and recommend corrective actions to procurement department in case of any deviations from project plan.
  • Ensure timely preparation and issue of reports as per the agreed reporting calendar.
  • Review project invoices for revenue collection.
  • Assist in preparation of Project monthly and weekly reports.
  • Make presentations on schedule and cost related tasks to management and client.
  • Facilitate change control on projects.
  • Capture lessons learned on projects and document for future use.
  • Provide assistance in project close out.
  • Assist the Manager - Project and Document Control with the appraisal of Project Controls engineers assigned to the project.
  • Perform all responsibilities of Project Control engineer in absence of on-project Project Control engineers.
  • Carry out other duties assigned by the Manager - Project and Document Control and in particular:
  • Review process maps and work instructions for critical processes and submit to Manager, Project and Document Control for approval.
  • Keep abreast of developments in assigned field.
  • Suggest ways to improve efficiency and service and to reduce costs.
  • Assist in recruitment within the department.
  • Train Project Control engineers
  • Prepare Department presentations when assigned.
  • Perform technical audits when assigned.
  • Undertake other tasks as assigned by Manager - Project and Document Controls.

  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate in any Engineering discipline
  • 10 years+ experience in Planning, Scheduling and Cost control roles.
  • 5 years+ experience in Oil & Gas, Power or Petrochemical industries in project execution.
  • 5 years+ experience in using scheduling tools like Primavera.
