JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood is currently recruiting for a Piping Engineering Designer VI for E3D Offshore Projects in our Houston, TX Office Offshore Service Line.
Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required. They will function in a design discipline leadership role accountable for the overall discipline work processes, scope of work, required deliverables, budget and schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Wood is currently recruiting for a Piping Engineering Designer VI for E3D Offshore Projects in our Houston, TX Office Offshore Service Line.
Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required. They will function in a design discipline leadership role accountable for the overall discipline work processes, scope of work, required deliverables, budget and schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates and facilitates with discipline design leads for staff assignment, change management and discipline technical support.
- Delivering piping design input for projects and liaising with pipe support coordinator, stress engineering, model manager & 2D/3D CAD group.
- Project coordination of Piping Design Team and reporting to Project or Engineering Manager on project related matters.
- Manages discipline work to the required schedule and manpower allocation, including requesting personnel as identified by the plan, and day-to-day supervision of piping discipline personnel on the project. This includes approval of timesheets, holiday approval and overtime approval where delegated.
- Performs periodic overall model reviews to assure level of content. Reviews for overall completeness, general safety issues, access and egress, materials handling scheme is being adhered to, maintenance and operability, etc.
- Liaison with and reporting to Project Management and Client.
- A minimum of two years of college or technical school in a relevant discipline. A minimum of fifteen (15) year's experience in the Oil and Gas Industry.
- Fifteen (15) year's experience in Piping Design/Drafting.
- A minimum of Fifteen (15) year's experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Occasional field visits, climbing stairs, gathering information, marking up existing drawings. Potential for visits to offshore sites via helicopter or boat
- Ability to work well with Clients, Project Management and team members.
- Presents professionally with good communication skills both orally and written.
- Able to supervise two or more other employees.
