RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support from Concept to Commissioning of Subsea Control System design, fabrication & installation of Subsea Control Equipment.
• Preparing functional design specifications, control narratives, and control system architecture diagrams specific to the offshore project.
• Preparation, review and validation of System Design documents and Specifications for Subsea Controls System (SCS) and Subsea Distribution System equipment.
• Review & validate the QA/QC, FAT, EFAT, SIT & SAT plans received from subsea equipment manufacturer / suppliers.
• Participate in FAT, EFAT, SIT, Qualification testing programs, etc.
• Participate during construction, onshore testing, offshore installation, Pre-commissioning & Commissioning of Subsea Control System.
• Prepare and manage the interface register. Address all the interface issues during the engineering, manufacturing, inspection, testing, installation & commissioning stages related to subsea equipment.
• Design and integration of control panels in the existing DCS and HMIs into topside and subsea equipment.
• Working with various design and operational documents, specifications and drawings like topsides integration schematics, subsea distribution drawings, subsea electrical, fibre, hydraulic and chemical schematics, interlocks, and programming cause and effect spreadsheets, alarm rationalization manual.
• Participate/Contribute to SIL Reports, RCM, IPF studies, HAZOP/ HAZID studies, major accident hazard bowties, RAM Matrix, asset safety case, cause & effects, RBI, LOPA, FMEA & Risk/ Criticality Analysis (cost & safety / environmental).
• Help with backlog prioritisation & optimisation and bridging the gaps between the project design phase and that of the commissioning, operations and maintenance. Minimising incomplete coverage to reduce availability or reliability risks.
• Should be prepared to undergo offshore medical and apply for BOSIET certification.

QUALIFICATIONS

B.E. or B.Tech. in Instruments or Chemical Engineering. Masters/Ph.D. in Offshore or Subsea Engineering is preferred. Chartered Engineer as defined by AMIE or EngTech/Incorporated Engineer could be advantageous.

Knowledge, skills, and experience:

• 10 years of experience. Should be able to review, program and troubleshoot subsea control equipment.
• Familiarity with BoMs across the subsea production system (SPS) scope of supply, including Systems, Trees, Controls (including Topside (MCS, SCU, EPU, HPU, TUDU) and Subsea (UTA, Flying Leads, SCM, Instrumentation) Production Control System equipment), Manifolds (including subsea valves, hotstabs and ventilation hatches), Connections, Subsea Distribution & Umbilicals and Wellheads. Familiarity with DHPT gauges, flow meters, sand detectors, etc.
• Knowledge of manufacturing & fabrication of subsea control equipment
• Familiarity with Delta-V or SCADA systems.
• Familiarity with OREDA based RAM analysis.
• Familiarity with NORSOK, API, DNV, ISO and IEC Codes and Standards.
• Participation in Pre-Commissioning Loop Tests, FATs/SITs, Plant Commissioning, knowledge of PTW systems, COSHH, LOLER & HSSE regulations is beneficial.
