JOB DESCRIPTION

The US Omega accounting team is looking for an Accounting Manager. The ledgers this group manages are the first cross segment/cross business unit ledgers to go-live on the new Oracle Cloud platform (Omega). Once implementations are complete, this team will have GL/Accounting responsibility for all corporate and operational entities under the US NOV LP legal entity supporting over 6000 employees across all NOV segments and Corporate. This role offers a unique opportunity to not only oversee traditional accounting functions but also system implementations and process improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate the activities of staff including training, employee development, performance evaluation, hiring decisions, and the establishment of goals and performance objectives for assigned department.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes under strict deadline-oriented environment.
• Responsible for SOX compliance and internal controls.
• Responsible for managing reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, including preparation of various month-end close schedules and reporting packages to Corporate.
• Coordinates internal and external audits.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
• Develop and implement best practices to improve accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness of financial operations.
• Provide training and support to finance team members on new systems and processes.
• Adhere to the criteria set by the Controller and/or the Company.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Required Experience and Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance
• 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least some supervisory experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability understand end to end business processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of SOX compliance
• Strong understanding of US GAAP

Preferred Experience and Abilities:

• Master's degree in accounting /finance
• CPA/Working towards completion of CPA
• Big 4 experience
• Public company experience
• Prior system implementation or process improvement projects experience
• Prior related industry experience
• Oracle Cloud Experience
