Job Responsibilities
Department Management: Provide leadership and direction to the welding, fabrication, and CNC machining departments. Supervisors of those departments will report to the Manufacturing Manager. Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, production planning, and resource allocation to meet production targets. Drive urgency and align resources to complete jobs on time to support final assembly. Implement and maintain best practices for welding, fabrication, and CNC machining processes to optimize efficiency and minimize waste. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, shorten lead time, reduce costs, and improve quality within the welding, fabrication, and CNC machining departments. Lead and support process optimization projects, utilizing lean manufacturing principles and other improvement methodologies. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, procurement, customer service, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of production priorities. Participate in cross-functional meetings and initiatives to drive organizational goals and objectives. Performance Management: Set clear performance expectations for departmental staff and provide regular feedback and coaching to foster professional development. Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance issues in a timely and constructive manner. Must be capable of holding team accountable and not afraid of having difficult conversations if needed. Safety Compliance: Champion a culture of safety within the manufacturing departments by enforcing safety protocols and procedures. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions as needed. Participate in the safety committee and own your respective area.

Qualifications
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a manufacturing leadership role, with specific expertise in welding, fabrication, and CNC machining processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field. This can be bypassed with additional years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve results. Must be resilient with a "try until you succeed" mentality.
- Proficiency in project management, problem solving, and decision making.
- Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Comfortable spending 50% of time on the shop floor and 50% in the office.
- Capable of reading and understanding blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Must be a quick learner with software programs. Multiple different systems are used for various parts of the business (JDE ERP System, Kronos, Jira, Teamcenter, Excel). Must be computer-savvy to succeed and must be capable of learning this quickly.
