Manufacturing Supervisor will use their leadership skills, experience, resourcefulness, and creativity to lead, develop and supervise shop floor personnel. This position's primary focus is our machining operations.

This position will report to a Focused Factory Manager who will provide support by providing the tools and knowledge to be successful. To be successful, the supervisor will deliver positive impacts on safety, quality, delivery, cost, working capital, and growth performance measures. While positively impacting key measures, will also enhance a culture of trust, provide clarity where possible, drive towards our purpose of adding value to each other and our customers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must ensure that company policies and procedures are always being enforced and adhered to.
  • Provide continual evaluation of the group's processes and methods, to assure the most effective use of resources and equipment.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of employee job execution, including training, performance evaluation, and employee relations.
  • Recommend tooling supplies and replacement parts as required.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of equipment and materials in the fabrication area.
  • Work with Engineering, Production Control, and QA on drawing problems, manufacturing order problems, and quality problems.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of an assigned area to ensure compliance with customer requirements, third-party requirements, API requirements, and NOV quality processes and procedures.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop self with the support from the manager, team members, and NOV's development resources.
  • Develop, support, and supervise shop floor personnel.
  • Manage employee schedules and time records in Kronos.
  • Will be resourceful in providing support for the factory.
  • Meet and exceed customers' expectations.
  • Manage resources to ensure worthwhile work is being performed and meeting demands as they shift across the shop.
  • Embrace a continuous improvement mindset and model associated activities including 5S and TPM routine activities.
  • Foster a culture of trust.
  • Maintain competency records, training records, documented discussions and other records as required.
  • Ensure adherence to 5S, ISO9001:2015, ISO90079-34, APIQ1, and HSE requirements.
  • Hire as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 5+ years of machine shop experience in operational related activity, i.e. Production Supervisor or similar role.
  • 5+ years of hands-on machining experience. (May be experienced concurrently with leadership experience)
  • Ability to work the first shift and willingness to work long hours and weekends to develop one own skills and capabilities and to support the shop in meeting demands.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related work environment.
Preferred

  • Knowledgeable of API Spec Q1 and ISO 9001 standard.
  • Thorough understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, or similar types of methodologies.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM.
    • Proficiency with M & G-Code.
    • Proficiency with Mazatrol.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn different software programs.
    • Proficiency with Word
    • Training in Excel now.
