JOB DESCRIPTION

The Business Relationship Manager is a key contributor for executing the Business Relationship strategy by providing leadership and vision of ES Services within NOV and balancing and coordinating the fulfillment of demands. The Business Relationship Manager partners with business leaders in their area of focus to develop and plan an appropriate technology roadmap. The Business Relationship Manager directs and prioritizes the provisioning of new and enhanced services as per business requirements, ensures that the business needs are captured appropriately, articulates the business value of opportunities, and provides vital input for the creation and maintenance of the overall ES Strategy.

This highly visible role will focus on:

  • Ensuring the departments under their responsibility get the maximum value from ES to increase productivity and efficiency
  • Promoting the benefits of knowledge sharing across business and ES.
  • Articulating and representing the business needs, value opportunities, and issues to the ES teams.
  • Managing ES demand to ensure the most effective use of investments and resources.
  • Understanding and responding to the future needs of the business.
  • Partnering with business leadership to evaluate new business case justifications and coordinate with Product Managers and EA to ensure these initiatives fit with overall business capability roadmaps.
  • Ensuring that ES service quality matches with business expectations.
  • Educating business users on the value of ES engagement within their division.
  • Increasing awareness of the services provided by the ES organization.
The Business Relationship Manager will be involved in a wide variety of projects supporting the business, such as Business Process Improvement initiatives and new functionalities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively develops relationships at all levels within their area of business focus, as well as building rapport and credibility across ES internal teams.
  • Participates and leads the demand management process within their area of focus.
  • Assists the business in road mapping, documenting, and planning for future technology needs.
  • Organizes the necessary alignment meetings to ensure proper coordination and governance across the businesses and ES.
  • Translates business vision to enable a shared understanding by business and ES personnel.
  • Works with the Enterprise Architects & Solutions Architects on approach and methodology for best use of systems and solutions.
  • Develops success criteria with business leaders and measure the progress of ES initiatives against those factors.
  • Facilitates quarterly performance reviews with operational management and business executives.
  • Manages stakeholder expectations and takes accountability for delivery.
  • Manages conflict between business operations and ES and encourages open and transparent discussion between parties to determine an appropriate resolution.
  • Ensures transparency to business operations of new or changing requirements and their impact on ES initiatives.
  • Assists with prioritization activities within and across operational groups.
  • Collaborates with other Business Relationship Managers to develop strategies to align business groups where appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Management Information Systems
  • 5-8 years experience with enterprise systems, business operations, supply chain, and/or process environment and standards
  • 3-4 years of effective people and/or process management experience
  • Project Management or Business Analysis certification an asset
  • BRMP or CBRM designation an asset
