JOB DESCRIPTION
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This position contributes to the company's success by ensuring the successful development of NOV's new and existing technologies consisting of deployment, operation, and training of Client personnel to be able to do the same. The role of the MPD Supervisor is to manage and supervise the MPD Operators and Equipment Technicians in their respective roles. The MPD Supervisor ensures that the MPD operators adhere to MPD best practices effectively manage all critical parameters when drilling MPD. The goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction maximizes customer retention and increases profitability. Accountable for performing efficient and complex maintenance and installation of all phases of mechanical equipment and serving as a quality point for work of less senior personnel while ensuring all work is performed safely This position will require frequent visits to various rig locations both within and outside of the U.S. Must be willing and able to travel on relatively short notice and remain on location for an extended period. Candidates will need to have current US Passport.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Observe functioning and installed equipment to detect hazards/problems and need for adjustments,
repairs or replacement
• Supervise and train MPD Operations personnel and ensure MPD Operators are effectively employing
safe, efficient, and effective MPD drilling practices
• Prepare reports and procedures as needed in support of testing and/or commissioning and operation of NOV equipment and systems
• Participate in job planning and After-Action Reviews (AAR) as they relate to NOV systems and interfaces
• Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
• Manage all onsite installation, repair, maintenance, operation, and test tasks
• Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
• Be able to deploy to remote locations promptly to meet company and client needs
• Operate and maintain NOV MPD manifold and conduct MPD downhole operations as MPD Supervisor
• Repairs and maintains NOV hydraulic and subsea systems as they relate to the commissioning and
operation both while at NOV facilities and deployed on client locations
• Cooperate with the Engineering team and share information across the organization
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
• Monitor inventory of operational spares
• Produce timely and detailed service reports
• Follows company HSE and QA/QC policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proven field service experience with min 10 years of experience (5-year minimum as Well
Site Supervisor)
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• Technical - ability to implement mechanical knowledge and skills
• Knowledge of maintenance processes and procedures
• Knowledge of quality control requirements
• Expert knowledge of Managed Pressure/Underbalanced Drilling processes and procedures
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED
• IWCF Level 4 Well Control Certification
• BOSIET/HUET
• Experience utilizing DrillSoft, Drill Bench, or similar drilling software
• TWIC Identification for work in GoM
• Secondary Education preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Standing, bending, sitting, lifting to 25 pounds, squatting, and walking for 8 to 12 hours
daily.
