PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for prototyping and testing of new products, tooling, and test equipment.
- Responsible for design of new products based on defined concepts and performance targets.
- Produce and maintain detailed engineering drawings of tooling and final products.
- Project management: Planning development activities to optimize efforts and seamlessly transferring of new products and processes to manufacturing.
- Responsible for assuring the ease of manufacturing and safe performance of all products.
- Assure dimensional compatibility of all standard products.
- Initiate engineering changes to products and mechanical equipment as needed.
- Produce manufacturing specifications which comply to performance requirements.
- Provide technical support as directed.
- Supervise/assist technicians in prototyping and qualification testing.
- Generate and maintain professional test reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Materials, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- 0 - 5 years' experience working in the area of material science/engineering
- Experience working with polymers and/or composite laminates a plus.
- Ability to interpret data and provide recommendations based on findings
- Selecting best combination of materials based on purported use
- Testing and assessing materials
- Developing prototypes
- Troubleshooting
- Quality Control Testing
- Advising management on suitability, feasibility, profitability, environmental impact of material
- Self-starter, willing to accept initiative and able to work independently
- Some Travel required
