M/D Totco is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Engineer to join our team. This engineer will work closely with our software engineering and operations teams when implementing solutions and ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver who can design and implement innovative solutions to challenging technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, oversee and implement solutions revolving around Max technologies for internal business units and their external customers.
• Develop and implement high-performance, scalable, and reliable solutions that meet industry standards and best practices.
• Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
• Monitor systems and respond quickly to any issues that may arise, including performance bottlenecks, security threats, and system failures.
• Measure and optimize system OR process performance setting proper metrics, monitoring and SLAs/SLOs.
• Mitigate risk by analyzing the root cause of production issues, impacts to business, and required corrective actions.
• Collaborate with software engineering and operations teams to identify and resolve technical problems.
• Continuously improve our systems and processes to increase reliability and performance.
• Engages with business units to identify key platform product issues; solicits feedback on platform product roadmap.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in implementing complex applications and systems. Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with configuration management to automate deployments using Ansible, Terraform, or Chef.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a global team environment and to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of networking and infrastructure as a service (IaaS) concepts.

Expertise & experience in many of these tools is highly desired

• Containerization technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, ACS, GKE, etc.
• Monitor tools: Prometheus, Statuscast, Grafana, DataDog, Nagios, etc.
• Scripting Languages: Pyhton, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, Ruby etc.
• Databases: SQL, MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Elastic Search, etc
• CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, AzureDevOps, Bamboo, Jenkins, etc
