Position Summary
Working under direct supervision, perform material take-offs, organize and expedite workflow for maximum efficiency, and coordinate and control flow of materials, parts, assemblies, and labor hours through the manufacturing process.
Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL
• Responsible for ensuring that all Production schedules will be met.
• Coordinate the manufacturing and assembly flow and report the status of same to the Operations Services.
• Manage the Production Control Planner/Scheduler tools, as required.
• Maintain an accurate, current computerized database of the movement of all parts through the manufacturing process from initial to final stages. Ensure that all parts are tracked in such a manner that exact status and location can be easily ascertained.
• Verify current inventory of materials and requisition all materials and parts required to manufacture and/or assemble finished product.
• Monitor daily time charges to the job to assure accurate accounting of labor hours, accurate estimated time to complete (ETC), and the reliability of the computerized scheduling.
ADDITIONAL
• Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies through the manufacturing process.
• Organize and arrange all production documentation required to process manufactured items.
• Act as a liaison between Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to resolve all discrepancies and problems during
• the manufacturing processes.
• Perform other duties and assignments as required by the Operations Services Manager.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
• High School degree or equivalent.
• At least 5 years' experience in scheduling, planning, and expediting (Production Control) in a Machine Shop environment required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
PREFERRED
• Familiarity with Government (NASA, DOD) aerospace manufacturing.
Additional Information
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.
• Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
• Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
• Work surface is stable (flat).
• Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
• Job tasks are performed near other people.
