About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager who is responsible for the successful delivery of our big project for Honeywell Building Technology based in our Auckland office. You will be required to prepare, plan, execute & control all aspects of the project either directly or through delegation with the project team. You will also be monitoring and controlling financials, works schedule, resources (including subcontractors) as well as managing the project stakeholders (internal and external).

The projects involve challenging and highly technical, functional with contractual requirements and require a strategic thinker with a proven ability to provide strong team leadership, expert technical knowledge and customer relationship management to achieve project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and drive strategy and delivery of complex projects.
  • Deploy standard methodologies in the delivery and control of projects including management of project budgets.
  • Manage day to day operations of projects within the team including subcontractors and key partners
  • Develop trusting relationships with customers to ensure a shared understanding of key issues between all parties is maintained
  • Deliver to the financial objectives for the project and control billing and costs for the project.
  • Devise and implement risk management programs and manage overall project risk, communicating these to management on a regular basis
  • Undertake detailed planning and scheduling of the project and manage resource allocation.
  • Ensure the design solution is fit for purpose in meeting the project requirements with the optimised cost of delivery.
  • Maintain financial reporting for the project with data provided by Honeywell's accounting systems.
  • Provide regular and accurate estimate at completion of costs for the project.
  • New process development and introduction sub-project
  • Responsible for maintaining the project Safety Plan and EH&S responsibilities within the team.

Key Experience & Capabilities:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Electrical Mechanical and IT.
  • 3+ years' experience directly managing above +5 million worth projects in Building Services in preferrably in Rail industry.
  • Proven track record of sustained excellence and success in delivering highly complex projects in diverse industries. BMS is preferred but EMS and Lighting will also be advantageous
  • Tertiary Qualification in Project Management - preferred
  • Experience in managing partners and subcontractors.
  • Proven experience in project management including budget ownership/management, resource allocation, scheduling, forecasting and planning.
  • Experience on operational process change would be advantageous
