The Lead Engineer serves as the technical leader for all mechanical design needs for the complete engines and power system portfolio of products including proposals, cost estimation, design and development, qualification, service introduction and field issue resolutions. The selected candidate is accountable for technical deliverables of all design tasks, assuring that they are executed, on schedule, on budget, and in compliance with requirements. This position reports to the Director of Engineering for Engines systems and component analyses.
Responsibilities include providing technical guidance to all programs, developing and implementing talent strategies, people development, culture, technical leadership coaching, employee engagement and enabling diversity and inclusion. This position will work directly with the E&PS Engineering Leadership teams to execute the programs while creating and implementing a transformational burning platform strategy to dramatically reduce cycle time and cost and improve Honeywell's competitiveness in the marketplace.
Lead Mechanical Structures and Aerodynamics Design Engineer is responsible for design and simulation of Aerospace engines Static and Rotating components. Lead Engineer must have broad understanding of the overall engine design for mechanical strength, thermal and Aero dynamics/Computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Lead engineer should closely work with other engineers, review the technical deliverables, mentor and coach junior engineers, provide oversight on the quality of technical deliverables, review project cost and schedule estimates to be competitive to global standards, lead and represent the team in the design reviews. Lead engineer should be an advocate of technology trends in the engines field, should closely collaborate with wide engineering community such as Fellows, Product Chiefs, Project engineering and Certification experts to define and outline the engineering activities in the preliminary and detailed design phase of engines.

Responsibilities includes:
- Responsible for various simulations at system level and component level of Aerospace engines using tools like Ansys CFX/ Mechanical/ Fluent, StarCCM, Fine Turbo and AxCent.
- Responsible for all technical requirements in Simulation and Analysis of Engines and APUs, provide estimate of the efforts and partner with engineering manager to define the schedule.
- Responsible for technical content of the deliverables, Lead and represent the team in design reviews in PDR and CDR, review technical deliverables from team including schedule and Cost.
- Decipher the certification standards, establish means of compliance to certification standards, own and author reports (internal and external) as per the requirements for structures.
- Establish best practices, lessons learnt, and design knowledge management and author CGPs
- Responsible to drive the Global Strategic Framework, Simulation strategies for Engines and APUs structures, Follow the technology trends, generate new ideas by driving innovation workshops, develop proof concepts for technology insertion, mentor and guide junior engineers.
- Responsible for defining and executing Simulation and Analysis activities to achieve overall product development objectives within budget and schedule constraints and in compliance with requirements.
- Responsible for relationships with broader ESCA organization, customers, internal stakeholders, and E&PS leadership.
- Mentors and trains the team to achieve all objectives utilizing demonstrated experience in the design, Simulation and development of complex mechanical systems and components.
- Continually reviews engineering projects, and the adequacy of plans, incentives and controls. Reports performance and results on a regular basis to the leadership.
- Responsible for technical decision making, including, without limitation, coordinating technical requirements with relevant stakeholders, customers, and advising leadership and customers on all technical aspects and issues to achieve all technical requirements.
- Coordinates with peers and program PEs to ensure overall program success.
- Sponsors and leads transformational projects to execute work differently to achieve NPD 50/50 goals.
- Creates an environment where individual and team accomplishments are valued. Intellectually challenges using innovation and creativity.
- Actively participate in external forums, publish whitepapers, and represent the organization, influence the eco system in the best interests of organization

You Must Have
- Bachelor / Master's degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering with 12+ years of relevant engineering experience in Simulation and Analysis of Propulsion Engines and Auxiliary Power Unit components and assemblies
- Candidate must be an Indian Citizen
Technical Knowledge:
- Hands on experience in simulation of gas turbine engines and components. Hands on experience of running computational fluid dynamic simulations, thermal, and finite element simulations.
- Excellent understanding of physics, ability to validate the complex simulation results by using first principles and closed form solutions.
- Excellent understanding of Certification guidelines for engine type certification and fair understanding of the requirements for OEM certification.
