Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities. The work model for the role is: onsite This role is contributing to the Switching team at ABB Corporate Research in Baden-Dättwil, Aargau, Switzerland. Main stakeholders are Electrification division. In this 6-month internship in the Switching team at ABB Corporate Research in Baden-Dättwil, Aargau, Switzerland, you will support the research team in experimental tasks. These include CAD preparation, hands-on work in assembling and development of novel concepts for low/medium voltage switchgear. The intern will join the experimental team in the laboratory to test the developed solutions. You will be mainly accountable for: • Construction of experimental setups • Participating in designing of the novel concepts for low and medium voltage switchgear • Executing experimental tasks within the ABB research team • Evaluating experimental results and performing data analysis

Qualifications for the role
- Currently pursuing a degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or related subject (advanced B.Sc. or M.Sc.)
- You have hands-on experience in experimental work in a lab
- You are at ease communicating in English
- You are able to work in a large research team
- Proficiency in CAD software or willingness to learn it
- You hold a current valid VISA/work permit for Switzerland or a confirmation for a mandatory internship from your university
